TERMS
Terms of use.
Using denmantown.org and signing this petition is voluntary, public, and governed by the plain-language terms below.
Who runs this site
denmantown.org is a community-led campaign organized initially by Tony Aly and a growing number of Denman residents and supporters. We are not (yet) a registered society. The site is hosted on infrastructure paid for by the campaign.
Signing the petition
By signing, you confirm you are at least 16 years of age, that you have read the petition text, and that the information you submit is accurate to the best of your knowledge. Knowingly submitting false identifying information is grounds for removal from the signature record.
A signature is not a binding legal instrument. It is a public declaration that you support the campaign’s ask of the Province: an independent Restructure Study for Denman under the BC Local Government Act.
Public display
Your name (in the format you chose), your connection to Denman, and any one-line comment you wrote will appear on the public signature wall once you confirm your email. By signing, you grant us permission to display that information indefinitely, subject to your right to withdraw at any time.
See our privacy policy for the full list of what we collect, what we never display, and how to remove your data.
Comments and corrections
We reserve the right to decline to publish a one-line comment that contains personal attacks, defamatory statements, or material that could expose the campaign to legal liability. We do not edit comments — we either publish them as written or contact you to discuss.
If you spot a factual error anywhere on the site, please submit a correction. We have a written policy of correcting errors quickly and visibly.
Liability
The site is provided “as is.” We do our best to keep claims accurate and citations current, but the site is run by volunteers, and errors do happen. If something on the site induces you to act in a particular way, that is your decision; we’re not your lawyer, your financial advisor, or your municipal planner.
Governing law
This site, the petition, and any disputes arising from them are governed by the laws of British Columbia and the federal laws of Canada applicable in BC.
